For the DKTK partner site Freiburg we are seeking a highly motivated PhD student in the field of combined cancer immunotherapy and radiotherapy.

 

Job description:

The position is located in the Section of Radiobiology & Tumor Immunotherapy of the Department of Radiation Oncology, University Medical Center Freiburg. We study combinations of immunotherapeutics with focal radiation therapy (RT). This includes the combination of RT with active immunotherapeutics as well as cellular immunotherapeutics such as CAR T cells. Our research involves both the use of mouse tumor models and immunophenotyping of patient samples.

Within the PhD project, you will combine research on mouse tumor models and characterization of patient samples.

In this position you have the opportunity to work in a laboratory that employs a variety of modern research methods in cell and molecular biology, tumor immunology and tumor immunotherapy.

Requirements:

  • M.Sc. in biology, molecular medicine or other subjects, preferably with a focus on immunology, or M.D.
  • Deep interest in tumor immunology and translational oncology
  • Ideally experience in the analysis of murine or human T cell responses
  • Experience with mouse tumor models or the willingness to work with mice (a FELASA B certificate or equivalent desirable)
  • Very good written and spoken English
