Our Clinical Cooperation Unit "Molecular Hematology/Oncology" is seeking a postdoc or bioinformatician to join the Research Group "Translational Myeloma".

The Research Group "Translational Myeloma" of the Heidelberg Myeloma Center focuses on molecular and pathophysiologic aspects of multiple myeloma, with special interest in mechanisms of drug resistance, spatial heterogeneity of clonal evolution, and novel therapeutic targets. Our group serves as the translational research core of the German-speaking Multiple Myeloma Study Group (GMMG) and is responsible for many correlative science projects in the context of multicenter clinical trials.

 

Job description:

  • Analysis and integration of large multi-omics datasets with clinical data (WGS, RNA-seq, proteomics, multi-parameter flow cytometry, single-cell sequencing)
  • Support and supervision of bioinformatic analysis performed by PhD and master students
  • Interpretation, presentation, project reports, publication of results
  • Collaboration and communication within a team of technicians, clinicians, scientists and pathologists as well as (inter)national project partners

Requirements:

  • Master's and PhD degree in life sciences
  • Ability to independently solve complex scientific / technical problems
  • Experience and skills in bioinformatics tools and in programming language (e.g. R, C, Python, Java, Matlab)
  • Team spirit, creativity, reliability, strong commitment, ability to think and work independently in a collaborative environment
  • Self-motivation and strong interpersonal skills with a track record of collaborative work in multidisciplinary research environments
  • Proficiency in written and spoken German and English

Duration: The position is initially limited to 2 years with the possibility of prolongation.
