The Helmholtz Institute HI-TRON is a collaboration of the German Cancer Research Center with the Research Institute for Translational Oncology at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (TRON gGmbH), the University Medical Center Mainz and the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. The goal of the partnership is to develop effective immunotherapies and to identify novel biomarkers for assessing the effectiveness of treatment.
The Division of Personalized Immunotherapy at HI-TRON Mainz is seeking for the next possible date a
We are seeking a motivated and reliable student assistant to support routine molecular biology work in our research laboratory. This position is ideal for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic scientific environment.
Your Tasks
- Assistance with weekly molecular biology tasks (e.g., routine lab workflows)
- Preparation of buffers, reagents, and agarose gels/plates
- Support with general laboratory organization, including stock management and consumables
- Maintenance of a clean and well-organized lab workspace
- Assistance to team members with basic experimental setup as needed
Your Profile
- Enrolled as a bachelor’s or master’s student in life sciences (e.g., biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine, or a related field)
- Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques is desirable
- Careful, structured, and reliable working style
- Ability to work independently after initial training
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Availability to support on a regular weekly basis
