Position: Postdoctoral Fellow - RNA Biology & Cancer
Department: RNA Biology & Cancer
Code number: 2020-0227
The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.
The Division "RNA Biology & Cancer" characterizes the impact of RNA-protein complexes on tumorigenesis and therapy response (e.g. Mol Cell 2019, Nat Cell Biol 2020, Nat Commun 2020). We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a third party funded project on the role of RNA in the response to chemotherapeutic drugs and cell irradiation. You will lead the challenging project with great determination and plan, perform and analyze experiments with a broad spectrum of molecular and cellular biology methods to drive the project forward. We offer a vibrant and science-driven environment in our well-equipped lab and will provide you with the opportunity to work independently while gaining valuable mentorship and supervision.
You are highly motivated, ambitious and determined to successfully finish a scientific project with a great interest in RNA biology and cancer. You hold a PhD / Dr. rer. nat. or equivalent degree with an above-average grade and have ample experience evident from scientific publications in a spectrum of molecular and cellular biology - preferentially in mammalian cell culture. Experience in RNA biology, cancer research, DNA damage or molecular therapy response studies would be beneficial. You are eager to pursue and lead research projects on molecular biology of RNA in cancer with creativity, independence and team spirit. You work efficiently, goal-oriented and accurate, have a deep interest in research and are fully proficient in English. If you are interested in the position, we welcome your application including your CV, publication list, university degrees and reports and contact details for at least three references in one pdf online to the DKFZ.
