Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Cell Biology
Department: Experimental Hepatology, Inflammation and Cancer
Code number: 2021-0092
The German Cancer Research Center is the largest biomedical research institution in Germany. With more than 3,000 employees, we operate an extensive scientific program in the field of cancer research.
The project aims to dissect potentially druggable drivers of immune escape by oncogenic signaling pathways in liver cancer, using translational approaches and preclinical cancer models. Different state-of-the-art techniques will be applied, including novel, organoid-based transplantation cancer models, genetic perturbation of cancer and stromal cells and single-cell sequencing. The project will additionally involve the analysis and integration of multiple types of data to address questions in translational cancer biology.
We offer work in an international, motivating environment, collaborative possibilities in both basic and medical science, and close interactions with clinical partners that provide unique opportunities for a scientist with interdisciplinary interests.
The ideal candidate should hold a PhD degree in biology/ life sciences with an excellent background in biochemistry, cell or molecular biology. We look for a highly motivated and curious researcher with a strong interest in cancer biology and cell signaling.
