In the Division of RNA Biology & Cancer at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, we are recruiting a technical assistant eager to contribute to a challenging research project in the field of RNA/protein biology and cell proliferation funded by the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung.

Job description:

Our research focuses on the functional characterization of RNA-protein complexes and their impact in the control of cell division. It will involve a broad spectrum of molecular and cellular biology methodologies for in vivo as well as in vitro experimental settings (including among others protein purification, cell culture, immunoprecipitation and high-throughput sequencing). While most of the techniques are already available in our lab, we will also require technical support in the exploration and establishment of new methods. Our international team headed by Prof. Sven Diederichs offers a supportive and cooperative environment with high standards to promote outstanding research in respect of good scientific practices and offers the opportunity for the candidate to work independently, self-organized and with a variety of different methods.

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly motivated colleague with team spirit and a deep interest in research and challenging projects. Besides a successfully finished BTA/MTA/laboratory technician or similar education with above average grades, a good knowledge and practical experience in the basic protocols in molecular and cellular biology is essential as well as the ability to perform experiments efficiently, accurately and independently. A good knowledge in written and spoken English and German (both) is required.
